I haven’t made a philosphic rant in ages. It’s sad to say, but they are fewer and further in between. The thing I could not have foreseen in life is the loss of majesty that life retains with age. Ideas used to breathe life into me, now they merely intrigue me. I guess my point is that in case you read this and are under 25ish. There are several “hard” choices you have to make as a late adolescent/young adult, follow your heart and not your mind—it will talk you out of everything worthwhile in this life. Lets assume man has free will. Lets also assume there is a G-d. Then how far does this go? Does man alone have free will? Or do animals too? And for that matter where do we draw the line? Does nature have its own will? When we say “its cold,” has the atmosphere elected to change? (I am arguing analytically, so the possibility of it being just our perception must be ignored.) I mean, there are rocks that migrate. Do they have free will? How hands on must G-d be to be just? To be G-d?
